How to join
- Create an account. You need a personal invite code from Skollie; it makes one account and expires if you wait too long.
- Write down your account number. This game logs you in with a number, not a name. The server picks it and shows it once the account is created.
-
Download the original Tibia 7.72 client for Windows and unzip it somewhere like
C:\Games\Tibia772. The client isn't hosted here; community archives have it, for example this one (pickTibia772.zip). -
Download the patch file and run it in the client folder.
Put
TibiaPatch.batin the unzipped folder, next toTibia.exe, and double-click it. It createsTibia-private.exe, a copy of the client that connects to this world. The originalTibia.exeis left as it is; you can delete it afterwards if you like.Windows will probably say “Windows protected your PC” because the patch is a plain script, not a signed program. Choose More info, then Run anyway. You can open the file in Notepad first to read exactly what it does.
- Play. Start
Tibia-private.exe, enter your account number and password, and pick your character.
What the patch file does, step by step
- Checks that
Tibia.exeis the original, unmodified 7.72 client by its checksum, and stops if it isn't. - Writes
Tibia-private.exe, in which the five login server addresses point at this world and CipSoft's encryption key is replaced by the one this world uses. - Checks the result's checksum. It downloads nothing, installs nothing and doesn't need administrator rights.
Rather not run the patch file?
Any IP changer for old Tibia clients that also replaces the RSA key will work. Point it at 178.104.66.48, port 7171.
The current Tibia client from tibia.com will not connect; this world needs the 7.72 client from 2006.
